Dr. Charles W. Herzig, 61, of Swansea, passed away Oct. 4, 2013 in the Philip Hulitar Center in Providence.
He was the husband of Jacqueline M. (Girouard) Herzig to whom he had been married for 30 years.
He was born in Milford, Conn., son of Mary (Devine) Herzig of Barrington and the late Dr. Richard Herzig.
Dr. Herzig had been a practicing Chiropractor for 35 years in Pawtucket until his retirement due to his illness less than a year ago. He received his doctorate from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Ill.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his brother Dr. Christopher Herzig of Bristol, R.I; his sister Karren Boardman of Pawtucket, R.I.; and his nephew. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Herzig.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 270 Ocean Grove Ave., Swansea, MA 02777.
