Obituary: Francis Fontaine Jr., Former Swansea Police Officer

Francis Fontaine, Jr., age 79, of Swansea, died August 30, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband to the late Ethel (Spindle) Fontaine and son of the late Francis and Elsie (Perry) Fontaine. Prior to retirement he worked as a greeter at Walmart. 

Francis was a member of the Blue Knights and served as a Swansea Police officer for many years. He was a lover of animals, especially his cat “Emma” and an avid Red Sox Fan.

Francis was the loving father of Stephen Fontaine of Swansea, Kenneth Grover of RI and the late Richard Fontaine; brother of Joseph Frazier, Jr. and Carol-Ann Perry both of RI; grandfather of Scott Fontaine, Joshua Keagal, Alishia Vieira, Jessica Fontaine, Shayne Fontaine, Matthew Allen and Meloria Allen; great-grandfather of Caden Fontaine, Jacob Fontaine, Marissa Perry, Maddox Perry, and Olivia Seal.

Visitation will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.. with a service to immediately follow.
