Obituary: Hilda (Castanho) King, Special Needs Van Driver

Obituary from Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest:

Hilda (Castanho) King, 92, of Swansea, passed away Oct. 3, 2013 surrounded by her family.

A longtime resident of Swansea, she was daughter of the late John M. Castanho and Mary (Frias) Castanho and wife of 47 years to the late Thomas J. King Sr. 

She and her husband owned many local businesses, and she also served as a special needs van driver for the town of Swansea for many years. Hilda enjoyed painting, knitting, and gardening as well as music and traveling.  

She was the mother of Thomas King Jr., Robert King, Richard King, and Mary E. McMahon who preceded her in death. She was also the sister of the late John Castanho. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Castanho of Fall River, daughter-in-law Linda King, and daughters Patricia Donaldson and her husband Frank of California and Cathleen Costa and her husband Manuel of Somerset. Hilda was the grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to St. Anthony Missionary.
