Raymond T. Enos, 90, of Swansea, died Sept. 27, 2013 in Country Gardens Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitative Center.
He was the husband of Mary (Donnelly) Enos to whom he had been married for 68 years.
Born in Riverside, R.I., son of the late Manuel J. and Irene (McGuire) Enos, he was a 1940 graduate of Joseph Case High School and attended Areo Techical Institute in Glendale, Calif. He was a longtime resident of Swansea and was a communicant of St. Dominic's Church.
He was employed as a foreman for 39 years at the William Law Sheet Metal Company in East Providence, retiring in 1985.
A United States Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, he rose to the rank of Sergeant, and was the recipient of a Certificate of Merit for the European Theatre of Operations. He was a member of the friends of the Cardinals Case High School, Sheet Metal Workers International #17, and an avid ballroom dancer.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Enos leaves his four daughters Cheryl Riendeau and her husband Robert of Swansea, Betty Enos Costa and her husband Joseph of Swansea, Karen Rae Travers and her husband Alfred of Seekonk and Lynne Chomka and her husband Steven of Cumberland, R.I.; his sister Betty Standring of Laconia, N.H.; his six grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Sgt. Robert Enos of Swansea Police Department and Richard Enos.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Tuesday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m. in St. Dominic's Church, 1277 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
