Obituary: Thomas DeMarco, Former Driver at Seekonk Speedway

Thomas DeMarco, 72, of Swansea, formerly of Searsmont, ME, and Freetown, MA, died on Thursday Aug. 22, at the Country Gardens Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born in Fall River the son of Beatrice (Guay) DeMarco of Somerset and the late Thomas DeMarco. Mr. DeMarco owned and operated D&D Sandblasting in Freetown, for 20 years. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. When Tom lived in the local area he drove stock cars at Seekonk Speedway.

Survivors besides his mother are a sister: Phyllis M. Preble and her husband Stephen of Somerset; three brothers: James DeMarco and his wife Barbara of Somerset; Robert DeMarco and his wife Nancy of Florida, and William DeMarco of Fall River; along with several nieces and nephews.

A service was held at Hathaway Community Home for Funerals in Somerset.

Memorial donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimers Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown MA 02472.
