Ohio Fugitive Captured in Swansea

Richard Holivay, wanted on assault and narcotics charges out of Ohio, was arrested during a traffic stop.

Swansea, MA — An Ohio fugitive wanted on assault and narcotics charges was arrested in Swansea Thursday morning.

Richard Holivay, 47, was arrested during a traffic stop on Route 195, according to State Police. He was taken into custody without incident.

Holivay had a previous address in Providence, R.I., police said.

He's facing domestic assault and drug charges out of Cuyahoga County in Ohio dating back to October, police said. His criminal history includes a conviction for burglary.

State Police said they recently learned Holivay would be traveling in Massachusetts and located his vehicle on Route 195. He was taken into custody without incident and will soon be transported back to Ohio.
