Seekonk Cop Buys Food, Finds Shelter for Homeless Woman to Ride Out Blizzard
Seekonk Police Officer Keith Perry displayed an extraordinary act of humanity to a desperate homeless woman as a blizzard approached.

SEEKONK, MA — A Seekonk police officer went above and beyond the call of duty Sunday—buying food and finding shelter for a homeless woman in distress with a blizzard on the way.
Police said Officer Keith Perry—working during the Super Bowl—encountered the woman and discovered she was homeless and had gone “quite some time” without eating. So police said he bought a bunch of groceries at the Seekonk Walmart and helped her secure a hotel room for the night to ride out the blizzard, which was expected to drop over a foot of snow on the region.
“Perry epitomizes the meaning of public service,” police said in a statement. “(He’s) a class act.”

- “My son waved to him once as he drove by ... Five minutes later he came back because he wanted to meet the little guy waving to him. My son wants to be a police officer so he spent a while showing my son his cruiser and explaining things to him. It was awesome. I could see the glory in my sons eyes! He will never forget that day!”
- “On Halloween Officer Perry was patrolling our neighborhood. He stopped and gave out candy to all the children and then took the time to answer all the questions the kids had about his patrol SUV. Great community service. Thank you.”
- “I had the pleasure of meeting Officer Perry ... I manage (a Dunkin’ Donuts) in Seekonk ... This man is amazing.”
