Seekonk Memorial Day Parade Canceled

There will be no Seekonk Memorial Day Parade this year, Town Administrator Pam Nolan told Patch. The annual event has been canceled due to the expected rain. No makeup date was announced.

The National Weather Service's Memorial Day weekend forecast for Seekonk and Swansea includes lots of rain, although the skies are expected to clear for Memorial Day itself.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain on Saturday—for both daytime and at night. There is a 40 percent chance of daytime rain on Sunday. No rain is expected Sunday night.

The Memorial Day forecast includes sunny skies and a high of 69 during the day and mostly clear with a low near 47 at night.
