Seekonk Officials Fundraising For Hockey Fights Type 1 Diabetes
The Seekonk Police and Fire hockey team will play at the BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament in Marlboro to raise awareness around diabetes.
SEEKONK, MA — The Seekonk Police and Fire hockey team is set to play at the BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament to raise money for Hockey Fights Type 1 Diabetes, a charity working to find a cure for diabetes.
The event, which is scheduled to take place in Marlboro the weekend of June 11-13, will help create awareness around Type 1 Diabetes and help fund the research effort of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which is supported by Hockey Fights Type 1 Diabetes through various events throughout the year.
The Seekonk Police and Fire Hockey team raises money through various charities by "playing bad hockey for good causes." As of Monday, the departments have raised $2,200 of their $3,000 goal.
