Seekonk Police K9 Sniffs Out Heroin Bust
One week after K9 Zuzo helped find a missing girl in distress in Rehoboth, Mattis detected 15 bags of heroin at a traffic stop on Monday.

SEEKONK, MA — One week after Seekonk police K9 Zuzo helped track a missing girl thought to be in danger in Rehoboth, K9 Mattis got in on the hero action sniffing out a heroin stash during a traffic stop. Seekonk police said Mattis discovered 15 bags of heroin, drug distribution equipment and $2,000 in cash at the vehicle stop.
The K9's work led to the arrest of two people on drug charges.
"These dogs are killing it!!" Seekonk police posted on social media. "Way to go Mattis and Sergeant Laprade!"

Last week, police said a troubled juvenile ran away from her home in Rehoboth and Seekonk police were called for help in finding her after it was determined she was in danger. Using a scent article, Zuzo was able to track her exact location where she was hidden within minutes.
Police said she was brought to safety and all necessary services were rendered.

Last month, Seekonk police credited both Zuzo and Mattis with helping in a pair of cocaine busts. In November, Zuzo helped track down a man who fled the scene of a car crash on I-95.
