Seekonk Police Seize Cash, Pot In Drug Bust

Seekonk police said 13 ounces of marijuana were seized during a vehicle stop.

SEEKONK, MA — Seekonk police said 13 ounces of marijuana and cash believed related to drug sales were seized during a traffic stop. Police said Officer Tino Natale also made an arrest following the stop.

Seekonk police said this is a reminder that while small amounts of marijuana are now legal for recreational use under state law, possessing and selling large amounts of the drug remains illegal.

"Massachusetts law allows the possession of up to one ounce of marijuana in public," Seekonk police posted on social media. "(Thirteen) ounces is a little excessive."
