Seekonk Public Schools Appoints New Director Of Student Services
George Kelleher-Bianchi was approved by the school committee on Monday and will formally begin his new role on July 1.
SEEKONK, MA — Seekonk Public Schools announced Tuesday that George Kelleher-Bianchi has been chosen as the next Director of Student Services for the district.
Kelleher, who has been the Assistant Principal at Dr. Kevin M. Hurley Middle School since 2019, was approved by the Seekonk School Committee on Monday and will formally begin his new role on July 1 following several months of training and preparation. He will replace Susan Doe, who will be retiring at the end of the school year.
“Over the course of the next few months, Mr. Kelleher will slowly transition into his new role, work collaboratively with Mrs. Doe to learn internal procedures, and begin meeting some new colleagues and families,” said Superintendent Rich Drolet in a statement.

Kelleher has master's degrees in educational leadership and special education from Bridgewater State University and previously worked in special education at Dedham Middle School and at Dr. Robert G. O’Donnell Middle School in Stoughton. He also taught English Second Language (ESL) at West Elementary School in Stoughton.
“Some things that set Mr. Kelleher apart from the other finalists were his dedication to being a lifelong learner, his commitment to Seekonk and his desire to be here to serve our students, staff and families for a long time," said Drolet.

In his role as Director of Student Services, Kelleher will work with staff to administer and supervise special education, coordinate the special programming curriculum, recruit special education personnel, and maintain the district's compliance with state rules and regulations.
