Seekonk Selectmen Back in Session

Among the items on the agenda for the Wednesday meeting is the reappointment of Superintendent of Public Works Bob Lamoureux.

After a two-week break, the Seekonk Board of Selectmen will meet again Wednesday evening with a loaded agenda. Among the items up for discussion and vote is the possible reappointment of Superintendent of Public Works Bob Lamoureux.

The department head's employment future was discussed earlier this month, and a majority of the board spoke in favor of giving Lamoureux a long-term contract, but the item was not approved due to technical reasons.

Lamoureux's future with the town was in jeopardy late last year when selectmen were split on whether to negotiate a new contract with him. Since selectmen were unable to make a decision, a one-year renewal on Lamoureux's existing contract was automatically renewed. The new agenda item calls for a three-year contract, to be negotiated with Town Administrator Pam Nolan.
