Maria Encarnação (Alves) Medeiros, of Swansea, passed away July 4, 2013 at home surrounding by her loving family. Born in Covoada, São Miguel, Açores, she was the wife of the late Daniel Raposo Medeiros and the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Da Ponte) Alves. She was a cloth trimmer at Bo Mark Corporation. She was a parishioner of St. John of God Church.
Maria was the mother of Octavio Raposo (wife Victoria) of Fall River, Connie Medeiros (husband José) of Swansea, Lucia Quintanilha (husband Antonio) of Somerset and the late Cidalia Medeiros; sister of Agostinho Alves of São Miguel, the late Seraphin, Gloria, Georgina, Manuel, José and João Alves. She also leaves 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River MONDAY here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours SUNDAY from 5-9 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
