Swansea Police Searching For Armed Robbery Suspect

Swansea police said a white man told a CVS clerk he had a gun and fled the store Tuesday morning.

SWANSEA, MA — Swansea police were searching for an armed robbery suspect Tuesday after a clerk at the CVS on G.A.R. Highway said a man said he had a gun and demanded money. Police said the suspect is described as 5-foot-5, white man with a blonde beard and medium build. He is in his 20s and was wearing a black hoodie, jeans and a tan baseball cap.

Police said the clerk told them the suspect approached the counter about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, demanded money and said he had a gun. The clerk complied with his demands and the suspect fled on foot south on Route 136.

Officers responded to the 911 call for an armed robbery, and searched for the suspect, but did not find him. Police said there is reason to believe the same suspect might have been involved in a robbery in Warren, RI on Saturday.
