Swansea School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

SWANSEA, MA — The first day of school in Swansea is August 28 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Swansea School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/30 Kindergarten Students' First Day

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/4 Preschool Students' First Day
• 9/25: High School Late Start (10:00 a.m.)

October

• 10/5: No School (Staff In-Service Day)
• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/31: Early Release (Elementary and Junior High Only)

November

• 11/6: No School (Staff In-Service Day)
• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day observed)
• 11/13-11/14: Parent Teacher Conferences (Junior High School)
• 11/15: Parent Teacher Conferences (High School)
• 11/29: Parent Teacher Conferences (High School)
• 11/21: Early Release (All Schools)
• 11/22-11/23: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/6-12/7: Elementary Early Release (Parent Teacher Conference)
• 12/24- 12/31: No School (Christmas Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/9: Early Release (All Schools)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/18 - 2/22: No School (Winter Recess)
