Swansea Would Get $200k In State Economic Development Bill

The state House and Senate agreed on a $627 million economic development bill Wednesday.

SWANSEA, MA — The Massachusetts House and Senate agreed on a $627 million economic development bill early Wednesday morning, which would provide $200,000 for projects in Swansea.

The bill, which was passed almost unanimously following a session that lasted until after 4 a.m., now heads to Gov. Charlie Baker's desk for approval.

The bill would provide funding for the following projects in Swansea:

  • $200,000 for high-speed broadband infrastructure improvements and upgrades to support businesses and economic development along Swansea Mall Dr.
