Did You Know?: Famous People In Sharon

Here's a look at some of famous people from Sharon.

You may not know it, but Sharon has given the world some really exceptional people.

Of course, there's Revolutionary War soldier Deborah Sampson Ganet lived in Sharon until her death in 1827. She was a patriot, dressing as a man and serving in the Continental Army for 17 months as Robert Shurtlieff from Uxbridge. She was founded out in 1782 and given an honorable discharge at West Point.

Screenwriter Etan Cohen was raised in Sharon after his family emigrated from Israel. He co-wrote "Tropic Thunder "with Ben Stiller. He also wrote the recent "Men in Black 3", as well as an episode of "American Dad", for New England entertainer Seth Macfarlane, who has local ties to Wrentham
