A Great Season Comes to a Close for the SHS Gymnastics Team

The team placed 6th at the South Sectional Championships and there were several individual strong finishes as well!

The Sharon High School Gymnastics season came to an end this past saturday at the MIAA South Sectional Gymnastics Team Championships. It was a bitter sweet 6th place finish with the teams hopes to make the state championship dashed by missing the mark by 3 tenths of a point. The highs of the competition were the following individual performances of Rachel Greene placing 3rd in the All Around, 4th on vault and 5th on bars, Natalie Maidment placing 17th in the All Around and 8th on bars, Darren LePage placing 10th on Vault, and during the last event on Floor the team showing that Eagle Pride spirit on their feet dancing with their teammates.

Earlier in the week on Wednesday team spirit was high again at the MIAA Individual Championship where the four Sharon competitors that qualified were cheered on by their teammates and had great finishes. Natalie Maidment placed 9th on Beam and 10th on Bars, Rachel Greene placed 8th on bars and 10th on Vault, Darren LePage placed 4th on Vault, and Ariana Chabot placed 11th on Floor.

It was a great year for Sharon with definitely proving that they are one of the top teams to keep watching in the future in the the Hockomock League and in the State of Massachusetts! Congratulations Eagles!
