Revamped Sharon Summer Beach Pass Program Begins

SHARON, MA — The 2020 Sharon beach pass program has been finalized with passes required for entrance to town beaches from July 12 through Aug. 23.

Passes will be sold as "orange" passes for morning, "green" passes for afternoon or combination passes.

The morning is $30 for adults ages 18 through 61, and $20 for seniors 62-plus, children ages 3 through 17, disabled veterans or handicap residents. Those under 3 are free. The morning hours are 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Beach and 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Community Center Beach.

The beaches will then be closed each day from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m. so staff can clean all affected area —bathrooms, picnic tables, lifeguard chairs, fill sand holes and perform trash pickup.

Green afternoon passes run from 2:15 to 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Beach and 2:15 to 6 at Community Center Beach.

All-day passes are $50 for those 18 to 61, and $30 for seniors, children, disabled veterans and those with a handicap.

Beach tags are available Monday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those who would like tags mailed can request them at vruzzo@townofsharon.org and present the receipt at the gate until tags arrive.

Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. The passes allow you access to either side of the beach until full. A pass is required for each person 3 years old and up. There are no car passes this year.

Resident are asked to avoid lining up on Beach Street and Massapoag Road to avoid local traffic disruption.
