SHARON, MA — Sharon community resource K9 Flutie put a scare into the Sharon Police Department when he began losing weight due to a "scary unknown illness" about three weeks ago. But police were happy to report on Thursday that perhaps the town's most famous pup is now recovered from his health concern.

"He has regained his body weight and is back to happiness," Sharon police said, "thanks to the love and support of his handler(s). He is looking forward to seeing you very soon."

Police said three weeks ago that Flutie had been hospitalized with the unknown illness and was undergoing detailed tests to try to determine the cause of his weight loss.
