Sharon Fire And Police Chiefs Receive Coronavirus Vaccine
Chief James Wright and Chief John Ford received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Thursday.
SHARON, MA — Chief James Wright of the Sharon Fire Department and Chief John Ford of the Sharon Police Department received the first dose of the Moderna coronavirus vaccination on Thursday, according to a video released by the Sharon Health Department.
The two public officials are seen on video receiving their vaccines and are scheduled to be administered the second dose in 28 days.
"It's a great day," said Chief Wright. "It's the first step locally that we can move forward and get through this covid situation."

In partnership with the Town of Stoughton, the Town of Sharon will begin vaccinating the rest of its first responders and public health nursing staff on Monday, Jan. 11 at the Sharon Public Safety Building.
"We are excited that this is demonstrating the end of hopefully this terrible pandemic and we are encouraged that our guys are going to step up and get the vaccination and make us safer," said Chief Ford.

Sharon residents are encouraged to remain patient during the vaccine distribution, as it will roll out slowly and production needs to keep up with the demand.
"We've got a great team here and we are going to do everything we can to get it out as soon as it comes in," said Chief Wright.
