Sharon Home Prices Return to Pre-Recession Prices

Unlike the vast majority of towns south of Boston, home prices in Sharon have returned to their pre-recession prices.

According to data compiled by the Boston Globe, Sharon saw a 7.35 percent increase in median home prices from 2005 to 2014 and 23.50 percent increase between 2011 and last year.

In 2005, the median home price was $455,000, before dipping to $395,000 in 2011. The median price increased to $488,425 last year.

Sharon is joined by Milton, Westwood, and Cohasset as the only towns south of Boston to have a median price increase since 2005.

Locally, Foxborough remains down 6.23 percent, Mansfield is 13.44 percent lower, and Stoughton is 13.78 percent below 2005 prices, and Easton has almost recovered with prices down 3.64 percent compared to 2005.
