Sharon Police Investigating Swastika Etched In School Bathroom
The hate symbol was reported by a Sharon High School student last week.
SHARON, MA — Sharon police are conducting an investigation after a swastika was found etched on a bathroom stall at Sharon High School, said the police department in a news release.
The hate symbol was reported by a high school student last week and police believe it was written sometime before 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 4.
"A swastika, which is one of the most hateful anti-semitic symbols, was found in one of our student bathrooms," said Acting Superintendent Dr. Meg Dussault in a letter to families Friday. "As a school community we must continue to denounce loudly and clearly that hateful words, symbols, and actions which target anyone’s race, ethnicity, culture, etc. will not be tolerated in our schools."
