Sharon Police Praise Teen Girls For Saving Man's Life
Sharon police said the teens will be recognized for their swift action in helping save a man in distress at Lake Massapoag Saturday night.

SHARON, MA — Sharon police said a group of teens should be recognized as heroes for helping save the life of a man in distress at Lake Massapoug Saturday night.
"Someone should be very very proud," Police posted on social media. "Sharon police, fire and Sharon officials are looking to recognize these youth soon. What a great story!!"
According to WFXT-TV, the man was using a metal detector in the pond about 8 p.m. Saturday night, lost his footing and had trouble swimming with the metal detector attached to his wrist. A group of teens heard his calls for help, with two teen girls swimming over and reaching the man while another called for emergency help.

The two teen girls, who were about 13 years old, helped the man to shore safety.
He was taken to Norwood Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
