Sharon Police Respond To Suspicious Suitcase At Cumberland Farms
Roads in the area were temporarily closed Monday as the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad investigated.
SHARON, MA — Sharon police responded to a call of a suspicious suitcase left near the gas pumps at Cumberland Farms Monday afternoon, said the department in a Twitter post.
The incident happened at approximately 12:26 p.m., said police. They were unable to identify who left the suitcase.
Cumberland Farms was temporarily evacuated and Heights Elementary School went into a soft lockdown until the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad could determine the suitcase was empty.

Investigators believe someone left the suitcase as trash and are urging people to properly dispose of items that could be seen as threatening.
All roads have since been reopened.
