Sharon Police Urge Caution With Phone Donation Solicitations

Sharon Police Chief John Ford reminds residents the town's police association does not use phone requests for charity donations.

SHARON, MA — Sharon police are urging residents to be cautious whenever receiving a phone call soliciting for donations.

Sharon Police Chief John Ford said he received a call on Thursday asking for donations for local law enforcement and state troopers. He sought to remind residents that the Sharon Police Association does not solicit over the phone, and conducts campaign via mail each year.

"We recommend that you do not give to such organizations unless they can be verified," Ford said.
