Tips For Sharon Walkers, Joggers, Drivers Amid Social Distancing

Sharon walkers and joggers are urged to get out and get some excercise while facing traffic in a single-file line if there are no sidewalks.

SHARON, MA —With Sharon residents encouraged to get outdoors for exercise with the nicer weather and loosening of stay-at-home restrictions, police have a few tips when it comes to walking or jogging amid increasing traffic as businesses slowly reopen as well.

Pedestrians are advised to walk facing traffic where there is no sidewalk. Town bylaws state that runners and walkers must use the sidewalks where they exist, but should face traffic where they do not.

Those running on roads where there are no sidewalks should run facing traffic and pay attention. Runners are also encouraged to wear brightly colored clothing or a reflective vest.
