Woman Injured in Car Accident on Moose Hill Street, Jaws of Life Used

The woman operator was taken to Norwood Hospital for evaluation.

A woman was injured when her car crashed into a tree on Moose Hill Street in Sharon this afternoon.

According to Sharon Deputy Fire Chief Richard Murphy, the woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Norwood Hospital.

“The woman seemed to be doing fine,” Murphy said of her injuries. “Serious enough but not life threatening.”

The Jaws of Life were needed to extract the woman from the vehicle.

"They needed to use the Jaws to pop the door, but nothing extensive,” Murphy said.

He said that speed or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.

Moose Hill Street was closed for about 40 minutes while the crews worked to get the woman out of the car and while the car was towed away. It is back open now.

The call came in around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
