Homeowners in Massachusetts may catch a break this year – according to a Boston Business Journal report released Monday, the bulk of cities and towns will see lower property tax rates after green-lighting new residential and commercial tax rates at the end of 2017.
As such, the Bay State's median residential tax rate dropped 50 cents in 2018 to $15.10 per $1,000, the Journal reported. Below is a breakdown of the property tax rates across Massachusetts, followed by each community's state ranking:
