The winners will be honored during Historic Preservation Month in May.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Nominations are now open for Somerville's annual Preservation Awards, which celebrate residents who contributed to the upkeep of the city's historical buildings.

Eligible property owners must have completed restoration or preservation work between January 2015 and December of this year. Only work on designated historic buildings or non-designated buildings constructed before 1966 will be considered.

Eligible projects include removal of inappropriate siding materials, repair or restoration of damaged or missing architectural details, removal of enclosed porches or inappropriate windows, repainting with historic colors and a host of other preservation initiatives. Owners may nominate their own property or someone else's.
