The mayor's proposal would also end the commercial eviction moratorium and allow landlords and their agents to enter residential units.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Mayor Joseph Curtatone is proposing an extension on the eviction ban in Somerville.
Curtatone will submit a request to the Board of Health to revise and extend the eviction moratorium for 90 days, until Sept. 15. The proposal would end the commercial eviction moratorium and allow landlords and their agents to enter residential units for non-emergency reasons with 48 hours advance notice to tenants.
The city's emergency declaration will remain in effect throughout this 90-day period. The Board of Health will consider the proposal at its June 17 meeting.
