$6.5 Million Home Sold In South End

SOUTH END, MA — It wasn't the first South End home sold in the new year, but on Jan. 3, this home on Holyoke Street became the most expensive home to sell in 2019 in the neighborhood at $6.5 million. That's a bit lower than the $6,950,000 it was listed for in August. But the sprawling 5,000 square foot mansion last sold in 2012 for $3.8 million.

If you're thinking that seems a bit steep even for the South End, you might consider the median sale price in the South End is $1,140,000.

In November last year multiple homes sold upwards of $5 million. But also last year a home on Union Park Streetsold for $8.2 million in July. And in August, a building on Traveler Street sold for $216,125,000, according to realtor.com.

The home owner is currently listed as Tinga Wiebe, who has been the chief commercial officer of Hasbro Inc. since 2013 and served as its executive vice president until 2018, but it's unclear who bought the pad.
