3rd Annual Stoneham Kiwanis Dog Show Set for Saturday

Prepare your canine companion, as the third annual Stoneham Kiwanis Dog Show gets underway Saturday morning at the Town Common.
The dog show, which will be held rain or shine at the common, is slated for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 22. The event is free to attend; however, it costs $5 to enter your dog in the show.

"New this year will be a bake sale, a 50/50 raffles as well as some great raffle prizes," said Gloria Devine, Stoneham Kiwanis board member and former president, in an email to Stoneham Patch. "We are also raffling off 2 tickets to the Boston Red Sox with seating behind home plate."
Dozens of dogs participated in the dog show in 2012.

The dog show will feature several contests, including:
- Best Dancer
- Best Trick
- Cutest
- Fashion Show
- Owner/Dog Look-a-Like
Groomers, suppliers, trainers and other vendors will be at the show, and demonstrations will be put on unless inclement weather rolls in.
Prizes, raffles and refreshments will also be part of the festivities.Â
The event is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham. "Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham’s annual children’s Christmas Party, as well as other local charitable organizations," Devine said in the email.
