UPDATE: Search For Possible Suspect on Woodland Road Comes Up Empty

UPDATE WEDNESDAY 7:03 P.M.

According to a scanner report relayed on Twitter by Brian J. D'Amico, Stoneham Police and MBTA Transit Police are clearing the scene of the bus stop at 25 Woodland Road, reporting that officers searched the area and did not find anyone matching the earlier description.

Malden Center was also searched, as police initially believed the person boarded a bus.

Police are responding to the area of 25 Woodland Road, near the old Boston Regional Medical Center, for an unconfirmed report of a man possibly with a rifle wearing fatigues.  

Police originally thought the man boarded a bus headed toward Malden Center, though they now believe he remains in the area. 

While the report is unconfirmed, residents should be cautious. If you see someone matching the description in the area, call 911.
