Flash Floods May Hit Stoneham Region Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Middlesex County Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the Stoneham region and Middlesex County Tuesday afternoon.

The warning is in effect from 2:46 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

"Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area," reads the warning. "...These storms can drop 1.25 inches of rain within 30 minutes. Areas prone to flash flooding include Route 9 from Metrow West into Boston."

"A Flash Flood Warning is issued for rapid and potentially life-threatening flooding. In urban areas avoid flooded roadways and obey road closures. Those living along streams and creeks should move to higher ground immediately to protect life and property," reads the warning.
