Stoneham High Grad Frank Belcher Passes Away

A member of the class of 1973, Belcher worked for General Dynamics as a Financial Analyst.

Francis “Frank” E. Belcher, a resident of Reading for 30 years and formerly of Stoneham, died Feb. 20 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness. He was 63 years of age. Frank was born in Boston on July 14, 1955, the son of the late Walter T. and Mary A. (Dolan) Belcher.

Frank grew up in Stoneham, graduated Stoneham High School class of 1973 and was a graduate of Boston College class of 1977 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Frank worked for General Dynamics as a Financial Analyst. Frank was an avid sports fan and will be fondly remembered as a man who gave generously of his time to Reading Youth Sports.

Frank was the beloved husband of Charlene M. (Vento) Belcher. Devoted father of Ryan F. Belcher, formerly of Reading, and his wife Brittany of Wakefield, Erica L. Belcher of NYC, formerly of Reading, and Drew J. Belcher of Reading. Cherished brother of Barbara Lentine and her husband Mario, Jack Belcher and his wife Ramona all of Stoneham and the late Dorothy Todisco.

Frank’s funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.), Reading on Monday, Feb. 25 at 10 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill, St. Reading at 11 am. Burial to follow at Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading. Funeral home visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to the University of Maine Football Program.
