Stoneham High Graduate Patricia Carter Passes Away
North Reading resident loved to cook and travel.

Patrica J. (Beaton) Carter of North Reading, formerly of Stoneham and Saugus passed away peacefully on February 12, 2019. She was 65.
She was the beloved mother of Jason A. Masellas and Stephanie J. Jackson and her husband Kevin. Patti was a loving grandmother to Olive, Grace and Sean Jackson; cherished daughter of Phyllis (Egan) Beaton and stepdaughter to Mike Allen; siblings Carren Webber and her husband Scott, Arleen Carbone and her husband Joe, Gus Beaton and his wife Kim, Glen Beaton and her late brothers Paul and Phillip Beaton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Patti graduated from Stoneham High School and worked for several years as a waitress at Anthony's Hawthorne in Lynn, and the Continental Restaurant in Saugus. As her children got older Patti embarked on a career with East Coast Seafood which led to her many years of employment as Air Export Manager for FedEx Trade Networks in East Boston where she enjoyed a close bond with her coworkers. During that time she met her fiance and soul mate, Walter Alvarez who predeceased her. Patti loved to cook and was often inspired by the Barefoot Contessa and other celebrity chefs. Her family and friends always looked forward to her delicious meals on holidays and special events. She also loved to travel and took many trips to Europe and Mexico.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Feb. 22, from 4-8 pm at Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street, Stoneham. There will be a funeral Mass Saturday, Feb. 23 at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 120 Elm Street, Stoneham.
