Stoneham's Gaspare Drago Passes Away

Longtime town resident was the Senior Vice Commander of the Woburn Disabled American Veterans for many years.

Gaspare Drago, of Stoneham, passed away on Thursday August 22. He was 85 years of age.
Born in Everett, Gaspare was the loving son of the late Gaspare Drago and Josephine (Balsamo) Drago.

Gaspare was the Senior Vice Commander of the Woburn Disabled American Veterans for many years. He loved gardening. He was very proud of his fig tree that he grew in his yard each and every year. He loved dancing. Most importantly he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Gaspare is the beloved husband of Helen (Zarrella) Drago. Devoted father of Paula Anderson, Mark Drago and his wife Debbie, Paul Drago and his wife Amy. Loving grandfather of Brittany Longmuir and her husband Scott, Taylor Anderson, Briana Drago, Olivia Drago, Dean Anderson, Ryan Drago, Emma Drago and Jack Drago. Dear brother of the late Rose Cuoco and Paolo Drago. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family in the Barile Family Funeral Home (RT28) Stoneham, Monday, Aug. 26th from 8:30 am to 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Gaspare's Eternal Life in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
