White-Bellied Stork Flies Coop At Stone Zoo

STONEHAM, MA — It appears this bird has a bit of stage fright. During training for a show at Stone Zoo, a white-bellied stork named Las flew the coop.

Las was last seen Saturday morning near Stone Zoo and Spot Pond. The bird is about 3 feet tall, has a white belly, dark purple wings, neck, and back, a featherless face, and long legs. Its wingspan is about 3 feet.

The bird is not dangerous, and could be walking around or perched on a tree.
