STOUGHTON, MA — Police arrested a teen they said shot and injured an 18-year-old man from Stoughton, but another suspect remains at large.

The arrest stems from an April 1 shooting on Sumner Street, which caused residents on Sumner Street, Ryan Road, Cedar Street and Ash Street to shelter-in-place. Emergency officials brought the victim to a local hospital for treatment, and police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

"Upon arrival we learned that two suspects ran from the crime scene," Lt. John Bonney said in a statement. "We immediately began an exhaustive search that took several hours, utilizing K9’s and a State Police Helicopter. We called the search off for the evening but we informed our community that we would not stop looking and our detectives would, follow the evidence wherever it takes them."
