26 Percent Of Stoughton Residents Receive At Least 1 Vaccine Dose

Overall, 7,271 of 27,670 residents in Stoughton have received at least one dose and at least 3,624 are fully vaccinated.

STOUGHTON, MA — More than a quarter of Stoughton's nearly 28,000 residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to new state data released Thursday.

The state's vaccine rollout prioritizing the most vulnerable residents is bearing fruit in Stoughton, where those 65 or older have received the most vaccinations despite making up just 20 percent of the town's population. Sixty-three percent of those 75+ have received at least one dose, while 46 percent of them are fully vaccinated.

Sixty-two percent of those 65-74 have received at least one dose while 17 percent are fully vaccinated.

The Department of Public Health also released town-by-town coronavirus metrics, which showed continued improvement in Stoughton.

The positive test rate fell from 2.92 percent to 2.7 percent, while the average daily incidence rate per 100,000 was 16.8.

There were 65 confirmed cases in the past two weeks, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 2,645.
