3 Arrested In Violent Stoughton Home Break-In

Police said one victim stabbed his attacker during a violent altercation at a Stoughton home.

STOUGHTON, MA — Three men were arrested Tuesday after a stabbing during a break-in of a Stoughton home, police said.

Around 10:15 p.m., police were called to a house on Canton Street for a report of a break-in. While officers were on their way, police said they learned someone was stabbed.

According to police, several witnesses told officers a group of people broke into the house and attacked them. Police said they discovered a lengthy trail of blood.

Police said a Massachusetts State Police trooper heard the radio traffic and went to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton to see if anyone came in with a stab wound. He later confirmed the person who had been stabbed was at the hospital.

Witnesses told police a 16-year-old boy continuously stomped on the chest of an 18-year-old man. The victim was stomped on so hard that shoe marks were left on his chest, police said.

Fearing for his life, the victim grabbed a nearby knife and stabbed the teen attacker in the leg, witnesses told police. The stabbing caused a serious injury that required surgery. Police said he is expected to survive.

Stoughton police and state troopers continued their investigation at Good Samaritan Hospital and arrested three people there.

Cameron McGarry, 20, of Stoughton, and Jacob Okin, 18, of Sharon, were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime. Anthony Myers, 23, of Holbrook, was charged with assault and battery and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Police said they expect to file more charges but have no plans to charge the 18-year-old man that stabbed his attacker.

The three men arrested are to be arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Wednesday.
