5 Kings Flag Football Tournament For Stoughton High Crash Victims

This was an idea of the victims' friends and will be the first annual flag football tournament in their memory.

STOUGHTON, MA — Friends of the victims of May 19's deadly car crash organized a football tournament in their honor. The first annual 5 Kings Flag Football Tournament takes place this Sunday at the West Elementary School from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The seven on seven football tournament honors the four victims who lost their lives, as well as the driver who survived.

The event Facebook page says, "The Stoughton community suffered a terrible tragedy May 19th, 2018. 4 lives were suddenly taken from us and a 5th is fighting for his. These young men were a large part of the Stoughton high school community and we are all heartbroken from the loss."

The tournament cost $100 per team and raises money for the families of Chris Desir, Eryck Sarblah, Nick Joyce, and David Bell.

Teams require of minimum of seven players and can have a maximum of 12. All participants must be at least 14.

According to the event's Facebook page, the event is intended to be a time to share positive memories. It says, This will be a day full of stories shared, memories made, and competitive sports, just what these guys loved."

In addition to the tournament, the event will feature other kids friendly activities as well as a raffle, silent auction, concession stand, merchandise for sale, and ice cream sundaes from Crescent Ridge.
