A Look at Some of Stoughton's Newest Businesses

While there have been some noticeable business closings this summer in Stoughton (Shaw's and Honey Dew), there have been a handful of new businesses opening within the past few weeks as well. Take a look at some of the newest spots to check out in town:

Stoughton House of Brews Brings Coffee, Spirits, Ambience to Downtown

  • Billed as "your neighborhood coffeehouse and tavern," the Stoughton House of Brews, which is located at 28 Porter Street in the downtown, opened at the end of July. Owners (and Stoughton residents) Leo and Sandra Fay described the Stoughton House of Brews as a Cambridge-style cafe with a "small town flair." It has a "comfy, cozy" atmosphere, like you were "sitting in somebody's living room." Click here to read more.

New Thrift Store, Chic 2 Charity, Opens in Stoughton
  • Chic 2 Charity Thrift Shop recently opened up in the former Family Dollar Store on Route 138 in Stoughton in the Citizens Bank Plaza, adjacent to the STOYAC Community Field. Prices are dirt cheap, and there are offerings for men, women and children. Click here to read more about this new business.

August 8 Weather Report

According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of showers/thunderstorms in the Stoughton area on Thursday, with a high temperature around 80. There is the potential for heavy rain on Friday, before the wet weather clears in time for the weekend.

Middle School Hockey Tryouts

The Stoughton Middle School Hockey Program will be held August 19 and August 26 from 3:30 to 4:50 p.m. at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton. The tryouts are funded by the Friends of Stoughton Hockey (FOSH) and are free to all participants.

The Stoughton middle school program plays a full season of hockey in the Junior High League at the Foxboro Sports Center from September through April.
