After Successful Preview Event, Stoughton Farmers Market Gearing Up for First Season
The market will open June 1 and will run Saturdays through Oct. 26.

With the Stoughton Farmers Market set to open up for its first full season in a couple weeks, organizers have been busy preparing to make sure things are just peachy.
"There are many more details than anyone would think when you see the market happening, so we've been very busy the last few months prepping for this year's market," said Pamela Carr, Chair of the Stoughton Farmers Market Committee in an email.
"We are so pleased with the line up of vendors this season. We will have a consistent base of vendors that have signed on for the full season - all 22 weeks! As well as a great batch of rotating vendors that will join us anywhere from 2-12 weeks," she said.

There will also be live music and activities for kids.
"This is the first full season of the Stoughton Farmers Market. Last year we 'previewed' the market with a one-day event in October. The response was amazing! Hundreds of people came and showed their support, and then afterwards shared their comments and ideas in order to help us plan this year's season," said Carr.
"We will be having musical entertainment every week at the market with a variety of musical combinations, as long as weather permits (i.e. not when it rains)," said Teresa Tapper, manager of the farmers market. "Opening Day (June 1st), we will have the trio Moxie return because they had favorable reviews when they performed at the preview event."
Carr and the Stoughton Farmer's Market Committee have high hopes for the market to be a success.
"We really hope to see Saturday mornings at the market turn into a positive healthy community event each week - walking to/from the market, taking the walking tour downtown, catching up with neighbors, gathering health and wellness info, sharing recipes, ideas and more," she said.
"We believe in Stoughton," Tapper said. "We want this to be a positive experience that promotes health and well being - for our citizens and for the town itself. We want to bring something that will bring vitality to our area, while it promotes a healthy living lifestyle."
