Angelo's Famous Roast Beef Expanding To Stoughton

The Plymouth based restaurant was voted by Boston.com readers as one of the best places to get a roast beef sandwich in Massachusetts.

STOUGHTON, MA — For those looking for some quality roast beef on the South Shore, Angelo's Famous Roast Beef once again has you covered with a new location set to open in Stoughton within the next couple months.

Brockton native Richard Monsini owns the Plymouth based restaurant, which was voted by Boston.com readers as one of the best places to get a roast beef sandwich in Massachusetts. He's excited to bring the restaurant closer to home and try to make Stoughton a roast beef destination again.

"For more than five decades this town was well known for a delicious roast beef sandwich," Monsini said on the resturaunt's Facebook page. "The place was called Murmacs. Well a new sheriff is coming to town. Bing bang boom!"

"Bing," "Bang," and "Boom" are more than Monsini just being excited. For those who haven't been to to the Plymouth location over on Main Street, these are the terms used for sandwich sizes.

While the smallest sandwich, the "Bing" still holds a quarter pound of roast beef, the "Boom" doubles that, so come hungry for what Monsini claims is the best roast beef out there.

"Our beef is the best top round on the market," he said. "We shave over 70 pounds each day. It’s so good that it melts in your mouth. And it’s gluten free."

Monsini told Patch the Stoughton location will be on Washington Street and he hopes to open by March 1.
