Fire Deemed Arson At 24-Unit Stoughton Apartment Complex

Anyone who saw something in the area around the time of the fire is asked to call the confidential Arson Hotline at 1-800-682-9229.

STOUGHTON, MA — Fire officials said someone intentionally tried to set fire to 24-unit apartment building on Wheeler Circle.

Stoughton firefighters received reports of a fire in the 100th block of Wheeler Circle just before, 3:30 a.m., Monday.

Fire Chief Michael Laracy said the blaze did minimal damage to the building because a resident put it out while the fire was still small. No injuries were reported.

Stoughton fire officials and the Office of the State Fire Marshal opened an investigation and determined that the fire was an arson.
