Former Dawe School Principal Joe Dawe Dies
The former Stoughton elementary school principal recently passed away.
STOUGHTON, MA - A longtime member of the Stoughton Public Schools community has passed away.
Joe Dawe, the former principal of the elementary school that bears his name, passed away this week. The Stoughton Police Department was the first to announce his passing.
"Tonight we learn that the Town of Stoughton has lost a true legend," the police department wrote on Facebook Wednesday night. "Mr. Dawe cared deeply for this town. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Dawe family. Rest in peace Mr. Dawe."

Dawe began his career in Stoughton in 1962. By 1969, he was the principal of North Elementary School, which is now the Dawe Elementary School. He was the school's principal for 27 years.
