Four Fail Stoughton Liquor License Compliance Check

The violations stem from a September compliance check.

STOUGHTON, MA — Three Stoughton establishment have received warnings after serving alcohol to minors during a compliance check.

Tuesday, Chinatown on Sharon Street, Ming Du Restaurant on Washington Street, and Nagoya Sushi on Washington Street were ordered by the selectmen, at the recommendation of Police Chief Donna McNamara, to retrain and recertify staff following their failed liquor license check. The establishments may take the training online or at the Stoughton Police Department.

A fourth establishment, Mike’s Real Deal Diner on Park Street, also failed the test but received a continuance because the owners were unable to attend Tuesday night’s meeting.

In the case of the restaurants, the failed checks were the same. On Sept. 26, an underage operative went into each of the restaurants and ordered an alcoholic beverage. In each case, the minor was served and the restaurants were issued violations for allowing the sale.

Representatives for the restaurant did not contest the allegations. They said they would get their staffs recertified and retail, and make sure their bartenders and servers pick up liquor server IDs as well.
